Arun Kumar Rath
Dr. Arun Kumar Rath (M.Sc. Physics, Ph.D Business Administration and D. Litt.) is an eminent civil servant, distinguished Professor, corporate advisor and author. He is Chairman & Professor, Centre of Corporate Governance, CSR & Sustainability at Indian Institute of Management Nagpur. Dr. Rath joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1973 and served as the Joint Secretary (Public Enterprises), Additional Secretary (Steel) and Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. After superannuation, Dr. Rath has been Visiting Professor in leading business schools in the areas of corporate governance, public policy, CSR, business ethics and sustainability. He served as Independent Director in the Boards of Directors of a number of blue chip Indian companies in steel, coal and petroleum sectors.
He received the award of Fellow of the World Academy of Productivity Science, Montreal in February 2020 for significant contribution to productivity and Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Narayan National Award in 2021 for outstanding contribution to education.
Dr. Rath, currently Chairman of the Indian Institute of Public Administration, Odisha Regional Branch at Bhubaneswar and Chairman, DAV Public School Pokhariput at Bhubaneswar, received the prestigious Paul H. Appleby Award of IIPA New Delhi in October 2022 for his outstanding contribution to public administration.
