Arun Kumar Rath
Dr. Arun Kumar Rath is a distinguished civil servant, eminent Management Guru, author and columnist. His academic achievements include M.Sc (Physics), management education in the University of Birmingham and University of Bradford, Ph.D (Business Management) and D.Litt.
Joining the Indian Administrative Service in 1973 (Bihar/Jharkhand cadre), Dr. Rath dedicated over three-and-a-half decades of his civil service career to excellence in public administration and corporate management. As the Secretary (Education), Government of India, Dr. Rath was the architect of Right to Education in 2009. After superannuation from IAS in 2009, Dr. Rath served as Professor of Management in leading business schools. Dr. Rath also served as the Director in the boards of blue-chip Indian companies in the steel, coal and petroleum sectors.
Currently, Dr Rath is the Chairman and Adjunct Professor at Centre of Corporate Governance and Social Responsibililty, Indian Institute of Management Nagpur, Chairman, DAV School of Business Management Bhubaneswar and Chairman of the Odisha Chapter of the Foundation for Restoration of National Values. He was awarded the Fellow of the World Academy of Productivity Science, Montreal (2020), the Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Narayan National Award for Education (2021) and the prestigious Paul H. Appleby Award by the Indian Institute of Public Administration New Delhi (2022) for his outstanding contribution to public administration.
