Prof. S. Rajendran
Prof. S. Rajendran, after completing Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Madras, he earned M.Phil Degree from the Bharathidasan University, Thiruchi, Tamil Nadu. Institute for Social and Economic Change (15EC) Bengaluru provided the platform to complete Ph.D., Degree in Economics. He has worked with the Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi and regularly contributed to Down to Earth on agricultural science and technology issues. Later, returned to ISEC as Research Officer and continued there for three years. Dr. S. Rajendran joined as Reader, DOS in Economics and Cooperation, UOM of Mysuru, Karnataka and became Professor in 2004. In 2005, he joined and subsequently moved to the Department of Economics, The Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul, TN. He has 31 years of research and teaching experience at University level. Dr. Rajendran has been working as expert member in high powered committees of higher education. So far he has published 93 research articles and 36 articles in edited volumes and two edited books. He is a regular contributor to the Economic and Political Weekly and published research papers in the Indian Journal of Agricultural Economics, Artha Vijnana and International Journal of Cooperative Management. His areas of interest include agricultural economics with a focus on development issues.
