Rakesh Kumar Bhatt
Prof. Rakesh Kumar Bhatt is a luminary figure in the realm of Library and Information Science, with a distinguished academic career spanning over three decades. As Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Delhi, he has been instrumental in shaping the discipline’s trajectory. A prolific writer, exceptional orator, and revered teacher, Prof. Bhatt has authored 28 books, and published over 200 research papers in esteemed international journals. He is a globally sought after library scientist, with over 200 invited talks and
keynote addresses at prestigious conferences, where he has shared his insights on cutting-edge topics. As a dedicated mentor, Prof. Bhatt has guided 14 Ph.D. and 25 M.Phil. dissertations, and over 180 MLISc projects, nurturing the next generation of library and information professionals. His contributions to the field have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Special Library Association Editors xvii (SLA-Asian Chapter), Best Teacher Award (2019), SPL Best Library Teacher Award (2019), and DLAShanta Vashishth Outstanding Leadership Library Award (2020).
