Description

You may be a subscriber to the notion that the term ‘Spirituality’, prior to the onset of 21 Century, remained as a very protected, insulated and lesser visible concept, attracting the attention and touch by a specific genre of more than matured people only. For the mass, laced with an acute materialism, it was considered nothing more than a ridiculous, irrelevant and even a pejorative idea. But, the massive jolt felt alongside the global economic crisis during the first decade of the century caused a serendipitous arrival of the word-Spirituality-along with the words, values and ethics, in the common man’s vocabulary. Today, it is a pervasive buzzword, practiced by the masses in plural ways. Its past, present and future actually instigated us to transform 36 papers/articles, presented during the recently concluded 7th International Conference on “Spirituality beyond Repertoire: A Leadership Key to Societal Happiness and Sustained Harmony” at School of Management Sciences, Varanasi, to the present tangible form-‘Spirituality Beyond Repertoire: Leadership and Happiness Perspectives’. Spirituality, Happiness and Harmony, have been highly demanding issues and become more contemporaneous at a time when the recently declared World Happiness Report 2018 places India on 133rd Rank against its previous Ranking of 122nd  in 2017. World’s largest democracy downgraded by eleven positions in just one year is certainly a matter of grave concern. It is teasingly humiliating to find India standing today much behind other SAARC nations.
