Dr. R. Selvakumar
Dr. R. Selvakumar, Associate Professor in Nanobiotechnology at PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, did his Ph.D in Biotechnology at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and post doctoral fellowship at Department of Civil Engineering, Scott Engineering Centre, University of Nebraska, USA and University of Newcastle, Australia. He is a recipient of prestigious awards like Water Advanced Research and Innovation (WARI) Fellowship awarded by Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, India, Endeavour Research Fellow awarded by Ministry of Education, Government of Australia, Blaustein postdoctoral fellowship award at Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research, Israel, CSIR-SRF from Govt. of India etc. He was selected as Emerging Water Professional for EWPP program at International River Symposium organized by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Govt. of Australia held at New Delhi, on Sept 12-14, 2016. He has completed several funded research projects sanctioned by DST-Water Technology Initiatives (WTI), DRDO, ICMR, ONGC and IGCAR. As on date, he has 60 publications with 651 citations, 4 book chapters, 2 patents (filed) and 2 technology transfers to industry. His research interests include water purification and effluent treatment using microorganism and nanomaterials, nanobiotechnology, extremophilic microbiology and meniscal tissue engineering.
