KP Singh
Prof. KP Singh, is a distinguished educationist, acclaimed academician, eminent researcher and academic administrator with a remarkable career marked by transformative contributions. As Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science, he has held various leadership roles, including Director of Gandhi Bhawan, Provost of PG Men’s Hostel, and Chairman of the Governing Body at Aditi Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi. He is also the President of the Delhi Library Association. A prolific writer and researcher, Dr. Singh has authored 20 books, edited 18 volumes, and published 192 research papers. He guided 17 Ph.D. theses and 35 M.Phil. dissertations. His role in NDTF (AC Member & Secretary, Media) highlights his dedication to collective progress and institutional excellence Dr. Singh’s academic credentials include a gold medalist Master’s degree in Agriculture from Meerut University and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from GNDU, Amritsar. He has received prestigious national fellowships, including ICAR-JRF (Agri.), UGC-JRF/NET (LIS), and DRDO-JRF (LIS). Notably, he is the first faculty member in the Department to brought and complete three major research projects funded by DRDO and UGC as Principal Investigator. Additionally, Dr. Singh was the first LIS teacher in the Department to be consecutively elected as Academic Council Member (2015-2019) for the University of Delhi’s highest statutory academic body.
